Update: International LEDES 98B (Beta) Background and Comments

The LOC has solicited input through a working group for the creation of an electronic invoicing standard, based on LEDES98B and recommendations from LITIG (Legal IT Innovators Group, a UK-based group see www.LITIG.org). The working group included DataCert, Tymetrix, Serengeti, Tripoint, Examen and BottomLine. Below is a DRAFT document that represents the combined findings of that working group.

Also below are the individual comments from members of the working group to earlier versions of the proposal which may help to provide context for the proposal, the final standard, and its evolution. DataCert’s comments are included in the body of the recommendation itself and by acceptance of recommendations from others.

The proposal was up for discussion at the February 2nd meeting of the LOC in NY. Additional comment from the LOC general membership was encouraged. The LOC unanimously adopted LEDES 98B International (beta) with changes based on the proposal.
