Proposed changes to LEDES XML Budgeting Version 1.0
The proposed changes to the current Budgeting standard are intended to correct information provided in the current LEDES Budget Proposal (DOC) and LEDES Budget Standard (XLS) as posted on ledes.org at http://www.ledes.org/LedesBudgetStandard.aspx, which provide conflicting instructions to the user. As with the original XML Budgeting Ver. 1.0, the proposed changes use the natively extensible characteristics of XML to allow for the support of budgets at many levels, such as task and activity, and across varying time frames. Individual timekeeper based budgets or matter staffing plans are also supported within the standard.
These proposed changes will be reviewed at the LOC members meeting scheduled on February 4, 2009 and submitted to the membership for ratification shortly thereafter.
